Abstract: Fatigue crack propagation rates in injection molded nylon 66 were previously shown to be strongly affected by prior processing history. To provide a physical basis for the observed acceleration in crack growth rates, microtomed sections were cut through the tips of stable fatigue cracks and examined by optical microscopy.
