Abstract: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) commonly leads to adverse pregnancy outcomes and long-term metabolic complications in offspring. Breastfeeding has been shown to rewrite the fetal “metabolic programming” resulting from maternal diabetes and finally lead to a lower risk of future metabolic disease.
