“…In most cases, EIB occurs without demonstrable foci of tuberculosis infection, and the tuberculosis etiology is suggested by positive findings of purified protein derivative (PPD), as in the present case. 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 …”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…In the remaining patients, the disease is considered to be idiopathic 4 . In most cases, the EIB occurs without demonstrable focus of tuberculous infection, being the tuberculous etiology suggested by a positive PPD 7,19 . The case presented here shows a clear association between EIB and renal tuberculosis, with the later being diagnosed some years after the beginning of the cutaneous lesions.…”

“…Varying degrees of vasculitis can be seen in erythema induratum of Bazin 8 : periarteritis, endarteritis, panarteritis and phlebitis. Larger vessels were at times completely occluded with the formation of intravascular tubercle 15 . Granulomatous vasculitis was found in a young Chinese woman with active pulmonary tuberculosis 16 .…”
