“…Finally, one cannot exclude the conjunctivae as the place of entry, this being supported by a history of recurrent conjunctivitis since 1967. This has also been described in a case reported by Weiss et al in 1948. Although massive fungicidal therapy was instituted immediately after diagnosis, death one month later could not be averted. After establishment in the internal CSF spaces, the organisms had caused multiple granulomas of the plexus in the lateral ventricles, as in the case described by Manganiello and Nichols in 1955, and also an apparently more recent large mycetoma in the right ventricle.…”
