Research work carried out in any institution could be meaningfully administered, and the outputs generated rendered more rewarding for its key stakeholders, if a set of critical success factors (CSFs) are outlined ex-ante. When CSFs are neither clearly identified nor practised in a vital sector such as commercial agriculture, difficulties arise with timely monitoring and evaluation, and tallying the achievements with intended Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) -particularly the goal of 'zero hunger'. This article proposes a Key Performance Index (KPI index) that takes into account CSFs that would aid in evaluating the success of research linked with commercial agriculture development. How such an index is used to facilitate monitoring of scarce resource utilisation and internal processes of research institutes, and thereby support evidence-based decision-making to sustain a conducive research culture is explored with a special focus on underutilised performance drivers (e.g., societal development and environmental sustainability) in line with agriculture research.

The main purpose of this research is to analyze the exploration and exploitation of knowledge in universities that support innovation and entrepreneurship in their environment. For this, the Performance Measurement Systems (PMS) of the universities management are analyzed as a proxy for the implementation of the strategic vision of the universities. This study is based on a systematic literature review on the subject, supported by the technical possibilities offered by the MAXQDA (The Art of Data Analysis) program. The databases used were the following: Elsevier (Science Direct), Springer, Wiley and Taylor & Francis. The main findings suggest that organizational ambidexterity, in general, develops unevenly and from different approaches, among which innovation, learning and strategy stand out. However, organizational ambidexterity hardly develops in a university context, where most of the university activities require some knowledge of the technological frontier. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and understand these two dimensions (exploration and exploitation) and their positive influence on entrepreneurship. In a context where the development of technology and science happens at an ever-increasing speed, a balance between exploration and exploitation is necessary, which should be reflected in the different control mechanisms in academic environments, such as the Performance Measurement Systems (PMS). The analysis of these systems will allow to know the position of the universities in the face of ambidexterity.

O desenvolvimento de inovações intensivas em conhecimento é visto como meio para enfrentar questões relacionadas ao esgotamento de recursos naturais. O estudo tem como objetivo, identificar as ênfases e os mecanismos relacionados as Células a Combustível (CC) e consequentemente a Transferência de Tecnologia (TT), a partir de uma revisão sistemática aplicada na Scopus para período de 2010 até novembro 2020. A análise bibliométrica reuniu 37 artigos, e os resultados mostraram que China, EUA e Coreia do Sul são países que promovem o desenvolvimento de CT&I direcionadas as (CC). Além disso, os reportes literários sobre (CC), denotam interesses prioritários em estudos sobre catalisadores e células a combustível de óxido sólidos em um espectro amplo de avaliação direcionado a baixar custos. Em contraste, a produção literária relativa a Transferência de Tecnologia converge para destacar estudos de viabilidade econômica, e estabelecer uma compreensão sobre os aspectos presentes para a Transferência de Tecnologia.
