Abstract: Differential screening of the genes obtained from cDNA libraries of primary neuroblastomas (NBLs) between the favorable and unfavorable subsets has identified a novel gene BCH motif-containing molecule at the carboxyl terminal region 1 (BMCC1). Its 350 kDa protein product possessed a Bcl2-/adenovirus E1B nineteen kDa-interacting protein 2 (BNIP2) and Cdc42GAP homology domain in the COOHterminus in addition to P-loop and a coiled-coil region near the NH 2 -terminus. High levels of BMCC1 expression were detected… Show more

“…We identified 8 nonsynonymous somatic mutations, and mutations were either missense or nonsense changes (Table 1). A stopgain mutation in PRUNE2 (also known as BMCC1 ) that had an important role in regulating differentiation, survival, and aggressiveness of the tumor cells27 was detected. In addition, genome‐wide copy number analysis revealed that several cancer‐associated genes such as ARID1B , LATS1 , PRDM1 , CDKN2A , and CDKN2B were harbored heterozygous deletions (Supporting Information, Table 2).…”

“…The extended isoform, BCH-motif-containing molecule at the Cterminal region 1 (BMCC1), was recently identified as a prognostic marker for childhood neuroblastomas (Machida et al, 2006). BMCC1 enhances neuronal apoptosis upon NGF depletion through as yet unknown mechanisms.…”

“…RT-PCR analysis of G3PDH mRNA expression was performed as a positive control for these experiments according to the manufacturer's protocol (RiverTra-Ace -a-RT-PCR kit). Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis of tumor samples was performed according to the previous report (Machida et al, 2006). The PCR amplification was performed using the above-mentioned primers for Noxa.…”
