Abstract: A total of 763 domestic fowls in Maiduguri a domestic fowl towns in the Arid Zone of Nigeria were examined for the presence in them of ectoparasites. The study revealed that 92.20% of the birds were of Nigeria. infested with ectoparasites. Major types of ectoparasites found were lice, ticks and mites and  their incidence was high in this area.
