“…In Sudan, we found that BP was the most frequent subepidermal AIBD, and this is in agreement with all previous studies [ 5 11 , 17 , 20 , 26 , 37 39 ]. BP showed a slight male predilection in this study similar to the findings in Tunisia [ 6 ] and China [ 10 ].…”

“…LAD/CBDC varied considerably among reported studies in the mean age of presentation. In the present study, predominance of the disease in the first decade was observed, similar to the finding in Germany [ 37 ]. Studies in Kuwait [ 9 ], Tunisia [ 6 ], and Uganda [ 38 ] showed dominant occurrence in the second decade.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…BP is the most common SEIBD presenting to the NSC, representing 88% of all seen. This accords with previous studies in France, Germany and China 2–4 (Table 3). EBA is next in frequency (6%), followed by LAD (3%), and BSLE (3%).…”

“…The age- and gender-specific incidence rates in the present study were calculated based on the corresponding age and gender distribution of the entire Swedish population, to enhance accuracy. Mean age at diagnosis (78.9 years) in the present study was in line with previous study results of 80–82 years [ 17 , 19 ] and 74–76 years [ 3 , 9 , 10 , 22 , 33 ].…”
