In Vitro and In Vivo Antihyperglycemic Effects of New Metabiotics from Boletus edulis

Anca Zanfirescu,
Ionela Avram,
Florentina Gatea
et al.

Abstract: The increasing incidence of diabetes has prompted the need for new treatment strategies, including natural products that reduce glycemia values. This work examined the in vitro and in vivo antihyperglycemic effects of new metabiotics derived from Boletus edulis extracts. The metabiotics were obtained from 100% B. edulis, and two other products, CARDIO and GLYCEMIC, from Anoom Laboratories SRL, which contain other microbial species related to B. edulis. Our in vitro investigations (simulations of the microbiota… Show more

“…Boletus edulis is a wild edible mushroom that attracts large groups of consumers with its high nutritional value and unique flavor ( Liuzzi et al, 2023 ; Tan et al, 2022 ). Proteins, amino acids, and other nutrients are abundant in Boletus edulis , while physiological active functions such as hypoglycemia, anti-inflammation, and regulation of intestinal microorganisms are also part of its repertoire ( Avram et al, 2023 ; Zanfirescu et al, 2024 ). In addition, a unique flavor of Boletus edulis is often one of the reasons why it is chosen by consumers ( Huang et al, 2023 ).…”
