In Situ Electrochemical Production of Metal‐organic Hybrid Composite Film from Nickel Containing Polyoxometalate and 3,4‐Ethylenedioxy‐thiophene for Sensor Application

Abstract: In situ electrochemical synthesis of an organic‐inorganic hybrid material composed of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and nickel‐based Keggin type polyoxometalate, K7[NiIIINiII(H2O)W11O39].15H2O(NiPOM), has been proposed here. The remarkable optical and electrical properties of the PEDOT and the unique redox properties of NiPOM have synergistically combined to make the hybrid structure highly desired multi‐functional materials for a myriad of applications. The driving force for the formation of hybrid… Show more

“…In this work, the 1-PEDOT film was fabricated by referring to the EPM method in the published literature. 52,53 In the first place, the 1-PEDOT composite films on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) or indium-tin oxide (ITO) were prepared by the EPM method in the preparation solution (NaCIO 4 , EDOT, and 1) using cyclic voltammetry (CV) in the potential range from −0.2 to 1.2 V with a scan rate of 100 mV s −1 . Afterward, the preparative conditions of 1-PEDOT composite films were optimized, including the dosage of 1 (0, 10, 20, and 40 mg) and the number of the EPM sweep cycles (10, 20, and 30 cycles).…”

[33] In this paper, the electrochemical behaviour of both (n-Bu We believe that this approach of forming a hybrid film with unique optical and electrical properties of EDOT monomer is appropriate for the synthesis of stable nanoscale-based electrocatalysts for HER, ORR, and a variety of other electro/photo-chemical applications. Both POMs were prepared by the reported method [34] with minor modifications as follows: A 0.78 g quantity of Na 2 HAsO 4 • 7H 2 O was added to a solution of 6.05 g of Na 2 MoO 4 • 2H 2 O in 220 ml of water, followed by the addition of 21.7 ml of concentrated HCl.…”
