Abstract: With hurricane season brewing in the Atlantic Ocean, two specially equipped NASA aircraft are taking to the skies to collect high‐altitude information about Atlantic hurricanes and tropical storms. The Convection and Moisture Experiment (CAMEX) mission, scheduled for August and September, hopes to yield high‐resolution spatial and temperature information on hurricane structure, dynamics, and motion that will help to better understand and improve groundbased predictions of hurricanes.
