Abstract

Feedback from the respected readers from World Journal of Surgery is highly appreciated, and we thank Ariffin et al. for their valuable suggestions and interest in our study. In response to their remarks with the title Important research elements in aiding training, we believe that we can group all suggestions into 4 main issues on which we comment.

Advancing Global Surgery: Moving Beyond Identifying Problems to Finding Solutions

“…Closely related to training is human resource development. Several of the articles report positive experiences with task sharing, such as performance of safe cesarean sections by clinical officers in Sierra Leone [1, 6, 8, 9]. These articles give further support for the viability of task sharing to increase access to surgical care, especially in poorer and more remote areas.…”
