The increase in demand for the electricity system is increasing. Thus, enviromentally friendly technologies such as new and renewable energy are needed, one of which is a power plant with Photovoltaic as the main component. Solar power plant has enviromentally friendly properties. The design of this solar power plant uses Fuzzy Logic Controller and PI Controller methods, where both methods are used to find the maximum power peak point used for fast charges and MPPT, which is simulted using MATLAB/Simulink. The things presented in developing the generating system using these two methods are solar radiation intensity, temperature and Photovoltaic module. The model developed will make it possible to examine the characteristics of solar power plant and predict the amount of energy generated by solar panels in a particular location and compare the effectiveness of Fuzzy Logic and PI methods. The results shows that Fuzzy method produces a boost converter output voltage in the range of 600 V with result that are still not good and less stable, but the irradiation of 100 W/m2 voltage is stable, while the boost converter output voltage controller by the PI method is very good and stable in all conditions. Radiation and voltage are also in the range of 600 V.

Nowadays, researchers focus on the modular multilevel converter (MMC), due to its modularity structure, effective sharing of voltages among the submodule switches, and betterment in the quality of the voltage and current waveforms. First, the conventional unified power quality conditioner is developed with two level voltage source converters connected back-to-back, which are proposed to mitigate both the voltage and current related power quality problems. Later, to improve the performances (voltage sag, swell, current harmonics, etc.) of the conventional method, multilevel inverters are used. In this paper, a modified unified power quality conditioner based on a modular multilevel converter is implemented to mitigate the voltage and current related power quality issues. The design of the MMC is very simple with a modular structure, and it also improves the performance of the system compared to the conventional methods. In this proposed topology, the voltage related compensation is implemented with a seven-level MMC, and the current compensation is achieved with a reduced four switch voltage source inverter. The developed system is simulated in the MATLAB platform, and results are validated by hardware implementation with a FPGA controller. It is observed that the developed system has less % of total harmonic distortion and reduction in voltage sag as per the prescribed IEEE 519–2014 standards and practices.

Pulse width modulation (PWM) methods play a major role to control the various power electronic converters to progress the recital of the system. In this paper, a comparative analysis is done for three dimensional space vector modulation (3D-SVM) and four dimensional space vector modulation (4D-SVM) for five-phase voltage source inverter. 3D-SVM method comprises all qualities of conventional SVM; switching time calculation is simple and much suitable for three-phase system; where in five-phase system, it has redundant switching state vectors. 4D-SVM includes advantages of 3D-SVM and other conventional methods, it employs only nonredundant switching state vectors; it directs to diminish the intricacy in switching time calculations and avoids trigonometric calculations and look up tables for reference vector identification. The various parameters such as total harmonic distortion, improved output voltage, minimized common mode voltage and switching time calculation are analyzed and compared for 3D-SVM and 4D-SVM techniques. Simulation and hardware results are acquired and established using matlab simulink and FPGA processor, respectively.
