Implementation of Evolutionary Fuzzy PID Speed Controller for PM Synchronous Motor

Abstract: We develop an evolutionary fuzzy proportionalintegral-derivative (PID) controller for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). We first consider a fuzzy PID control design problem based on the common control engineering knowledge that good transient performances can be obtained by increasing the P and I gains and decreasing the D gain when the transient error is big. Then we give an evolutionary algorithm (EA) to autotune the control parameters of the fuzzy PID controller. We implement the proposed EA-base… Show more

“…The fuzzy rules are extracted from the simulation and the experiment results about the process. Each control input has seven fuzzy sets so that there are at most 49 fuzzy rules [20][21][22][23]. The optimal value of the K T is decided by defuzzificating of the fuzzy controller.…”

“…The magnets were placed over the core of rotor and based on which Surface Mounted and Buried or interior PMSMs can be classified. The magnets placed over the rotor surface indicates the Surface Mounted PMSM and is shown in figure.1 [1][2][3][4][5].…”

“…In the past several years, active research has been carried out on the application of the neural network and neuro-fuzzy control of electrical drives (Faa-Jeng Lin et al, 2015;Pajchrowski et al, 2015;Uddin and Rebeiro, 2011;Choi et al, 2015). The learning ability, fault tolerance and parallelism suggest that such solutions may be good candidates for implementing real-time adaptive control for nonlinear and uncertain drive systems.…”
