Abstract:Many animals such as desert ants, honey bees and locusts have been reported to detect polarized light in the sky as a compass. Inspired by this, several polarized skylight orientation determination approaches have been proposed. However, almost all of these approaches always require polarization sensor pointing to the zenith of the sky dome.
