Abstract: The fluorescence microscope consists of a light source and a dark field microscope. The light source comes from a high pressure mercury vapor arc which emits a strong beam. After passing through proper filters, the ultraviolet light of less than 4,200 angstrbms in wave length is focused on the microscope for operation. Most microscope manufacturers such as Zeiss, Leitz or Reichert now produce such microscope sets which can be assembled and operated easily.
