Abstract: As part of an extensive field testing program, three full scale test fills were built on a soft Champlain clay deposit in Saint-Alban, Quebec.The fills were built to the same height of 11 ft (3.3 m) but with different slopes of 1.5/1, 2.5/1, and 4/1, and with resulting factors of safety of 1.24, 1.32, and 1.52.
