Identifikasi Cacing Gastrointestinal pada Babi di Kabupaten Jayawijaya dan Paniai, Provinsi Papua

Abstract: The rearing of pigs in the mountains of Papua is generally based on the free-range method during the daylight. Poor environmental sanitation and free-range management have been reported as risk factors of gastrointestinal worm infestation in pigs. In general, gastrointestinal parasite infestation can cause a loss of appetite, impede growth, decrease feed conversion rate, and increase vulnerabilities toward other pathogens. To add to that, the acute levels of infestation can cause death. Furthermore, some speci… Show more

“…Besides being influenced by the number of parasitic eggs in faecal EPG, the prevalence of water pollution contamination is thought to be influenced by the survival ability of an egg in water (Lindgren et al, 2020;Widayati et al, 2020;Kim et al, 2012;Baies et al, 2022;Kochanowski et al, 2017;Pittman et al, 2015). This can be seen in the Ascaris spp species where the number of parasitic eggs in the polluted faeces EPG is lower than the number of eggs of the polluting parasite Trichuris spp, but has a higher prevalence.…”

Beberapa contoh cacing pita yang menjadi parasite dalam tubuh babi yaitu Taenia solium, Ascaris suum (Yesenia dkk, 2017), Trichuris suis (Fendriyanto, Dwinata, Oka, & Agustina, 2015); (Yoseph, Dwinata, & Oka, 2018); (Widayati, Rahayu, & Degei, 2020) Strongyliodes ransomi, Trichinella spiralis, Trichostrongylus axei, Globocephalus sp (Guna, 2014); (Widayati et al, 2020).
