Identification of the major promoter and non-coding exons of the human arylamine N-acetyltransferase 1 gene (NAT1)

Abstract: Some carcinogens that initiate rat mammary cancer are substrates of human N-acetyltransferase 1 (NAT1) and variation in NAT1 activity due to environmental or genetic causes may influence human susceptibility to breast cancer.
