FusariumAntifungal Activities of Copper Nanoparticles Synthesized by a Chemical Reduction Method

Abstract: We report on the process of synthesizing copper nanoparticles (Cu Nps) for a short reactive time by chemical reduction method with a support of CTAB reductive agent. Their properties were determined by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) absorption spectrum, the X-ray (XRD) analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) images. The antifungal activity of Cu Nps was evaluated by testing againstFusariumsp. The Cu Nps were obtained with the average size in the range… Show more

“…In modern Agriculture nanoparticles are the upcoming arsenals against plant pathogens and green synthesized nanoparticles have shown great promise for disease control ( Lamsal et al, 2011a , Surega et al, 2015 , Viet et al, 2016 ). In the present investigation two nanoparticles were evaluated along with standard fungicides under poison food technique.…”

“…Plant extract mediated biosynthesized nanoparticles had been observed under a Hitachi 330 spectrophotometer with plasmon peaks at different regions of the spectral range 200-900 nm, which corresponded to different signature marks for the production of different nanoparticles, respectively [37]. Deionized water was used as reference.…”

“…The reaction occurred at fast rate, low temperature and te nanoparticles were formed with less chances of agglomeration [55]. CTAB can also be used as a reducing agent for the synthesis of CuNP which display antifungal activities [56]. There has been several reports suggesting using NaBH4 as a reducing agent [57].…”
