Abstract: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) are highly proliferative brain tumors characterized by a hypoxic microenvironment which controls GBM stem cell maintenance. Tumor hypoxia promotes also elevated glycolytic rate; thus, limiting glucose metabolism is a potential approach to inhibit tumor growth.
