“…In Munich today no less than i6"o of the patients with leg eczema give positive reactions to balsam of Peru, which is still widely used in Germany (Bandmann, personal communication, 1980). Fregert & Rorsman (1963) showed that Swedish patients sensitized by resins of fir and spruce would also be sensitive to balsam of Peru. Doom Gossens recently (1980) gave me a list of no less than fifty-nine Belgian brands of non-ethical therapeutic applications containing balsam of Peru.…”
