Abstract: Structure D 2000Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of AgVMO5 (M: Se, Te). -Single crystals of the title compounds are prepared by hydrothermal reaction of stoichiometric mixtures of AgNO3, NaVO3, and TeO2 or SeO2 (H2O, 190°C, autoclave, 7 d; slow cooling). AgVSeO5 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbcm with Z = 4. The structure consists of chains of cis-corner-sharing VO5 square pyramids, trigonal SeO3 pyramids, and AgO8 polyhedra.
