Abstract: In previous works, we developed nanocapsules and nanoemulsions containing the tea tree oil. The aim of this work was to prepare and characterize hydrogels containing these nanocarriers, and to evaluate their in vivo efficacy in protecting skin damage induced by UVB and cutaneous wound healing. Hydrogels were prepared using Carbopol Ultrez and their physicochemical characteristics were evaluated: macroscopic analysis, pH, spreadability and rheological properties. The in vivo antiedematogenic effect was evaluate… Show more

“…The same author (Flores et al, 2015) also assessed the antiedematogenic effect of tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) in nanocapsules and nanoemulsions incorporated into hydrogels. In this work the hydrogels were prepared using Carbopol ® Ultrez, containing these nanocarriers, and evaluated their in vivo efficacy in protecting skin damage induced by UVB and cutaneous wound healing.…”

“…These factors combined with low topical permeation due to the poor aqueous solubility limits the display of VO as candidates for dermatological treatments (São Pedro et al, 2013). For this reason, nanoencapsulation has been used as an alternative to increase the stability, efficacy, solubility, sensory character, and also the controlled release of natural assets through techniques involving nanotechnology (Chanchal, Swarnlata, 2008;Daudt et al, 2013;Flores et al, 2013;Flores et al, 2015;Severino et al, 2015;Asbahani et al, 2015). This artifice allows the use of VO not only on the skin, but also in alternative routes of administration that include intravenous, oral and inhalatory forms (Roger et al, 2010;Thanki et al, 2013;Lai, Wang, Hanes, 2009;Kushwaha, Keshari, Rai, 2011;Singh et al, 2011).…”

“…Several other NPs have been investigated for their immunomodulatory effects. These include dendrimers (122), TiO2 NPs (80,123), fullerenes (29), curcumin (124), tea tree oil NPs (125), and Cu NPs (83). As described previously, NPs can also be used as drug delivery tools loaded with immunomodulatory compounds such as α-gal (126) and indomethacin (127).…”

“…Одним из наиболее перспективных в этом плане материалов являются полимерные гидрогели [7,8]. Полимеры, обладающие свойствами биосовместимости, комплексообразования, биоразложения и наличием собственной антимикробной активности, можно назвать полигуанидинами [2,3] Перед началом экспериментов животные, отвечающие критериям включения в эксперимент, с учётом пола, возраста, массы и принципа рандомизации были распределены на 3 группы: контрольная, опытная 1 и опытная 2.…”
