Abstract: Right ventricular assistance is still in the early phase of development compared to left ventricular assist device (LVAD) technology. In order to provide flexible pulmonary support and potentially reduce the known complications, we propose a minimally invasive right ventricular assist device (MIRVAD), located in the pulmonary artery (PA) and operating in series with the right ventricle (RV). The MIRVAD is an intra-arterial rotary blood pump containing a single axial impeller, which is not enclosed by a rigid h… Show more

“…Blood was assumed to be a Newtonian incompressible fluid with a density of 1050 kg/m 3 and a viscosity of 0.0035 Pa•s. 26,27 The inlet is set as mass flow inlet, and the outlet is set as outflow. The steady-state RANS equation and the RNG k-ε turbulence model are used to calculate the steady-state flow in the centrifugal blood pump, and the near-wall treatment uses an enhanced wall treatment.…”

“…Blood was assumed as a Newtonian incompressible fluid with 1050 kg/m 3 density and 0.0035 Pa•s viscosity. 17,18 The no-slip boundary condition was applied to the stationary walls. The flow rate was 5 L/ min, and the impeller rotation speed was 2000 r/min for each simulation.…”

“…Literatürde yapılan birçok çalışmada kalp destek pompası hidrolik verimleri %15-%35 değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Bazı çalışmalarda %40 olarak hesaplanmış ise de bu değerin %15'in altına düştüğü de görülmüştür [7], [27]- [30]. Bulunan değerlerin literatür sonuçlarıyla uyumlu olduğu görülmüştür.…”
