Abstract: Mechanical stimulation of bone tissue by physical activity stimulates bone formation in normal bone and may attenuate bone loss of osteoporotic patients. However, altered responsiveness of osteoblasts in osteoporotic bone to mechanical stimuli may contribute to osteoporotic bone involution.
