How can a transport model be integrated to the strategic transport planning approach: A case study from Budapest

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the state-ofpractice in transport modelling in Budapest. BKK and its subcontractors created an integrated multimodal transport model (MTM) as a result of a three year process. This model is based on large-scale data gathering process and it will provide support for decision making processes. More solid, evidence based decisions can be made with the help of this new tool, which at the end can improve the quality of life in Budapest.
