“…Since the publication of Burman and Margolin's landmark article in 1992, literally dozens of rigorous research articles have been published describing the impact of marital problems on a variety of health conditions (Kiecolt-Glaser & Newton, 2001;Sandberg, Miller, Harper, Robila, Davey, 2009;Umberson, Williams, Powers, Liu, & Needham, 2006).
