Homopurine Alkaloids: A Brief Overview

Abstract: The isolation, structure elucidation, synthesis, biological properties, and biosynthesis of the homopurine alkaloids are reviewed, with an emphasis on the “victim-guardian” relationships between co-occurring alkaloids.
