“…, so that, the location of the cells also impacted on the determination of the DEP mobility. The low electric field may postpone the measuring process but was compensated by the use of micro‐video electrophoresis system which offered very fast observing speed down to even subseconds . Third, it is due to the use of a low voltage and fast electrophoresis system, the impacts of temperature and temperature fluctuation were commonly very little.…”

“…Zhu and Chen were the first to note that extraneous peaks in the electropherogram seemed to be the result of cell agglomeration. They also were able to establish a close correlation between peak height and number of cells injected (68). Grossman and Soane found that the orientation of a microbe affects its electrophoretic mobility.…”

“…Accurate measurements of electrophoretic mobilities are important in many biological and environmental sciences and technologies, ranging from clinical diagnostics (40,41) to biocolloid adhesion (8,10,12,17,33,39,43,44). Tobacco mosaic virus (6,15) and polymer latex mobilities (6,15,23) have been characterized by CE, but Zhu and Chen (47) found that for human erythrocytes, the electrophoretic mobility measured by CE differed by 21% from previously published values. As there have been no direct comparisons between CE and other techniques, we determined electrophoretic mobilities by CE and by microelectrophoresis (ME), and we report the results obtained here.…”
