Abstract:Magnesium is the lightest structural metal that can be used for engineering applications and its non-toxic nature makes it attractive for use as a biomedical implant. The judicious addition of nanoparticles to magnesium assists in enhancing multiple engineering properties that are critical for its widespread use and are superior to that exhibited by conventional micron-size particles containing composites. The ability to improve mechanical properties with the use of smaller volume fraction of reinforcements wh… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
