Abstract: beta-Hexosaminidases A & B, inflammatory marker enzymes, are mannosyl-rich glycoproteins that are implicated in acute asthma. At physiologically and pathologically relevant concentrations (nM), beta-Hexosaminidases act as potent mitogens of bovine airway smooth muscle cells.
