Abstract:A compact hexagonal patch antenna with T-shaped slot for frequency switching and conical radiation is presented in this article. By utilizing a PIN diode to change the configuration of the slot, two frequency bands centered at 2.29 and 2.11 GHz, respectively, are achieved. Moreover, approximations to conical beam patterns at the two frequency bands are obtained.
