“…Earlier, Sobolev et al [3] have shown by DTA studies that Na 1.5 Y 1.5 F 6 undergoes a phase transition into NaYF 4 with cubic symmetry at ∼973 K. Recently, based on the high pressures and high temperatures studies on NaYF 4 , Grzechnik et al [7] have reported that this compound undergoes a phase transition into a new polymorph with gagarinite type structure, which decomposes on further heating. These observations together with the results of the present studies indicate that the temperature profile and the experimental conditions have a pronounced effect on the high temperature behaviour of both the compounds.…”
