Abstract: Operable obstructions of the hepatic portion of the inferior vena cava (IVC) are rare but probably diagnosed more frequently nowadays. Since 1969 we operated 2 patients, one of them twice. Concerning to these cases the problems of diagnosis, morphology and surgical treatment are discussed.
