Hepatitis E virus serology and PCR: does the methodology matter?

Abstract: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) genotype 3 is an emerging pathogen in the developed world. As the clinical manifestations and routine laboratory parameters are often nonspecific, accurate diagnostic tests are crucial.
