HCK promotes glioblastoma progression by TGFβ signaling

Abstract: The hematopoietic cell kinase (HCK), a member of the Src family protein-tyrosine kinases (SFKs), is primarily expressed in cells of the myeloid and B lymphocyte lineages. Nevertheless, the roles of HCK in glioblastoma (GBM) remain to be examined. Thus, we aimed to investigate the effects of HCK on GBM development both in vitro and in vivo, as well as the underlying mechanism. The present study found that HCK was highly expressed in both tumor tissues from patients with GBM and cancer cell lines. HCK enhanced c… Show more

“…It is of noteworthy interest that quercetin, apigenin, myricetin, and kaempferol were predicted to interact with pim-1 oncogene (PIM-1), estrogen receptor 1 (ESR1), and hemopoietic cell linase (HCK). These proteins have been proven to be useful for regulating tumor cell growth in preclinical models of cancer [ 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 ]. These putative interactions could mediate, at least partially, the observed anti-proliferative effects induced by A. cordifolia methanol extract.…”

“…But it remains to be clarified that RBM47 functions as an RNA editing factor for ApoB in immune cells and atherosclerotic plaques tissue. HCK is a member of the Src family of tyrosine kinases, which transmits membrane receptor signals and plays an important role in survival, proliferation migration and phagocytosis of immune cells (Wang et al, 2020 ). HCK has also been reported to participate in leukocyte adhesion and metastasis, which may promote atherosclerotic plaque formation (Medina et al, 2015 ).…”

“…Moreover, HCK participated in the development of glioblastoma (GBM) by mediating the EMT process. This might become a promising therapeutic target for GBM [28].…”
