Hand rejuvenation

Abstract: Aging of the hands results from both natural processes and chronic ultraviolet light exposure. Together, these cause textural and pigmentary changes, excess skin laxity, rhytides, and soft tissue atrophy that presents as prominent bones and tendons with easily visible veins. Many options are available for the reversal of these changes. Photoaging can be improved with chemical peels and light-based treatments (such as Q-switched lasers), resurfacing lasers, intense pulsed light, and photodynamic therapy. Soft t… Show more

“…5 Chemical peels, light and laser therapy are frequently used methods for addressing pigmentary and textural changes. 6 This article demonstrates the combination of two compatible procedures for aging hands with ectatic veins: dorsal hand vein sclerotherapy and filler injections (Figures 1(a) and (b), 2(a) and 2(b)).
Figure 1.(a) Aging hands (age 80) with volume loss and ectatic veins and (b) three weeks post Radiesse injection (1.3 mL per hand) with sclerotherapy.

“…Visi šie veiksniai sąlygoja liekamuosius odos struktūros, funkcijos ir išvaizdos pakitimus [1]. Išorinis rankų senėjimas, nulemtas fotosenėjimo, chemikalų naudojimo, rūkymo, apima dermos bei epiderminius sluoksnius ir są-lygoja negilių raukšlių atsiradimą, senatvinę keratozę, pigmenatacijos pokyčius [2,3]. Su amžiumi atsiranda tokie spalviniai odos pakitimai, kaip geltonesnė rankų oda, dė-mės, hormoninių pakitimų sukelta melasma [1].…”

“…Apie 50-uosius gyvenimo metus endokrininės sistemos pokyčiai sukelia epiderminio vandens jungiamosios funkcijos silpnėjimą, o tai sąlygo-ja statinių raukšlių įsitvirtinimą bei ilgalaikį odos lipidinio barjero suardymą [5,6]. Todėl stebima minkštųjų audinių atrofija, kuri sąlygoja kaulų ir sausgyslių atsikišimus bei venų išryškėjimą [3].…”
