Halogen Bonding in the Assembly of Silver(I)-ethynide Complexes with 1-Iodo-3,5-bis(prop-2-ynyloxy)benzene

Abstract: The reactions of ethynide dianionic ligand, 1-iodo-3,5-bis(prop-2-ynyloxy)benzene (H 2 L), and silver(I) trifluorocarboxylate under solvent evaporation conditions yielded two silver(I)-ethynide complexes, namely, [(Ag 2 L) 2 (AgCF 3-CO 2 ) 4 (H 2 O) 2 ] n (1) and [(Ag 2 L) 4 (AgCF 3 CO 2 ) 3 ] n (2).
