“…Healing was judged to have taken place when removal of the gauze backing of the frozen cultures or the control dressing produced no bleeding. 9 Based on previously published reports using various moist dressings for acute wounds, including dermabrasion, chemical peel, and laser skin resurfacing in which complete reepithelization took longer than 7 days, 9,37,46–48 we conclude that our frozen cultured human epidermal allogenic sheets promoted significantly more rapid healing than any form of dressing alone, with a mean time of 4.6 days. Laser resurfacing of the skin produces a wound not very different from that of dermabrasion and should benefit equally from the use of frozen epidermal cultures.…”
