Habilidades de memória de trabalho e o grau de severidade do desvio fonológico

Abstract: TEMA: memória de trabalho. Show more

“…These researchers state that working memory maintains phonological and symbolic information of written language that are temporarily stored and active, allowing its transfer to long-term memory which, in turn, would result in learning (2,10,14) . The results of the current study demonstrate that participants at the alphabetic writing level showed good development of phonological awareness, and most of them exhibited a high memory performance.…”

“…A dysfunction in these processes can affect the ability to read and write (12,13) . During the literacy process, phonological and visual information must be recorded in working memory and transferred to the long-term memory in order to bring about the learning of written language (14,15) . Because of this importance of working memory in alphabetical phonological awareness, working memory assessments become indispensable for children who are learning how to read and write.…”

“…This association was observed in other studies that indicate that children with inadequate auditory processing may present difficulties in discriminating sounds and temporal processing during speech acquisition, leading to omissions and substitutions of phonemes, characterized as phonological deviation. Researchers indicate that impairments in phonemic discrimination, working memory, auditory processing and acoustic reflexes are commonly associated with phonological deviation [32][33][34][35] . Another study shows that 70% of children aged four to six years and with phonological disorders have failed at least one of the tests of a simplified evaluation of auditory processing, with a predominance of failure in sequential memory for verbal sounds test, results which are similar to those in this paper 33 .…”
