But tests constitute only one category of psychological assessment procedures, and testing is only one of many available strategies or classes of actions in the course of the assessment process. “…These two models assume that people have unlimited working memory space and cognitive capacity, while it is by now an established fact that they are boundedly rational, and do not optimize but satisfice [46]. Indeed, this suboptimality in clinicians’ performance has been recognized, and a task force has been set up that has given prescriptions for psychodiagnosticians how to perform systematic hypothesis‐testing [47]. Indeed, the studies evaluating diagnosticians’ categorizing performance illustrated above make it clear that debiasing the clinicians and/or the environment is called for.…”

“…The test administrator, including his or her gender, cannot be purged: There is always at least one person who is responsible for introducing the test, for informing and securing consent in testing, as well as for intervening in cases of potentially bias-evoking conditions (e.g., Fernandez-Ballesteros et al, 2001). This person is a situational characteristic of the test, and could possibly evoke bias.…”

“…With regard to the assessment instruments, guidelines for their use are also important [1-5]. Work has been carried out internationally to develop guidelines for psychological tests [6-8], but it is considered that a gap exists between existing standards and the need for regulation of the assessment process. Standardised scoring procedures are important, as they can reduce unintended bias [9-11].…”

“…Standardised scoring procedures are important, as they can reduce unintended bias [9-11]. There are many assessment procedures available in psychiatry, but little work has been done with guidelines for these methods [8]. …”
