Abstract: Tannic acid, propyl gallate, gallic acid and ellagic acid were tested for their inhibitory effects on selected food‐borne bacteria by the well assay technique. Tannic acid and propyl gallate were inhibitory whereas gallic acid and ellagic acid were not.
