Abstract:Greener solvent mediated simple and efficient synthesis of 6‐hydroxy‐5‐(3‐(3‐hydroxy‐1,4‐dioxo‐1,4‐dihydronaphthalen‐2‐yl)‐2‐oxoindolin‐3‐yl)pyrimidine‐2,4(1H,3H)‐diones has been achieved through the one‐pot multicomponent condensation reaction between 2‐hydroxy‐1,4‐naphthoquinone, substituted isatin and barbituric acid/thiobarbituric acid/1,3‐dimethylbarbituric acid using ethanol‐water as a solvent without any catalyst at room temperature has been described.
