The Effect of Hyaluronidase on the Facility of Outflow in Normal and Buphthalmic Rabbits

“…One finds a probability of > 0.05 in evaluating the results from the buphthalmic animals receiving saline and hyaluronidase injections consequently forcing one to accept the null hypothesis that there is no conclusive evidence of any significant effect on kC in buphthalmic rabbits receiving injections of normal saline or hyaluronidase. Lee (1968) in a comparative study of histological and gonioscopic findings in two normal and three buphthalmic rabbit eyes relates the decrease in outflow facility in buphthalmic eyes to a malformation of the filtration angle. This consists of abnormal insertion of uveal tissue, absence of the Space of Fontana, poorly developed trabecular channels, and undifferentiated uveal tissue closely adherent to the sclera and filtration angle.…”
