Genome-wide analysis and transcript profiling of PSKR gene family members in Oryza sativa

Abstract: Peptide signalling is an integral part of cell-to-cell communication which helps to relay the information responsible for coordinating cell proliferation and differentiation. Phytosulfokine Receptor (PSKR) is a transmembrane LRR-RLK family protein with a binding site for small signalling peptide, phytosulfokine (PSK). PSK signalling through PSKR promotes normal growth and development and also plays a role in defense responses. Like other RLKs, these PSKRs might have a role in signal transduction pathways relat… Show more

“…ABA accumulates to a high level during drought stress and modulates many downstream stress responses that define plant growth, productivity, and survival (Kalladan et al 2017). Consistent with our previous study, OsPSKR15 is induced with exogenous ABA treatment (Figure 1A; Nagar et al 2020). The promoter region of OsPSKR15 has ABRE motifs, which are binding sites for various ABA‐responsive and drought‐responsive transcription factors, suggesting that OsPSKR15 might induce abiotic stress tolerance through an ABA‐dependent pathway.…”

“…During drought stress, the ABA level increases, and in turn, it modulates many downstream stress responses. OsPSKR15 is induced by exogenous ABA treatment and drought stress (Figure 1A; Nagar et al 2020). OsPSKR15 is involved in the core ABA signaling through AtPYL9/OsPYL11.…”

“…PSK is matured by the proteolytic cleavage of its precursors and then goes through a post-translational sulfanation of its tyrosine residues [ 11 ]. Its main binding partners are the phytosulfokine receptors (PSKR) [ 12 , 13 ]. These receptors were first identified on Daucus carrota , and its gene is conserved among different plants species [ 7 , 10 ].…”
