The objectives of this study were to estimate the genetic parameters and Epigenetics TREND (EP) of milk traits of herd of Friesian in Egypt. The studied traits were 305 day milk yield (305d-MY, kg),total milk yield (TMY, kg), Lactation period (LP, day), days open (DO) and number of services per conception (NSC, services).The data included 1794 records of 704 cows daughters of 86 bulls and 439 damduring the years 2007to 2016 were collected from Alkarda farm (Government farm) located in Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt. Single-Trait animal model was used to estimate genetic parameter; overall means of 305-dayMY, TMY, LP, DO and NCS were 2935Kg, 3320 Kg , 310 day, 151 day and 1.7 services, respectively, Additive heritability (h a) estimated for 305d-MY, TMY, LP DO and NSC were 0.34, 0.31, 0.29, 0.06 and 0.26,respectively. While maternal heritability (h m) were 0.03, 0.07, 0.05, 0.01 and 0.002, respectively , The environmental impact of the permanent lower corresponding values were 0.0031, 0.0027, 0.0037, 0.0062 and 0.0038, respectively.Indicating that the effect of animals' genetic performance is affected by the surrounding environmental conditions where full care through the mother leads to improvement of the studied traits.The genetic and phenotypic correlations of most of the studied traits were highly significant (p <0.001) and ranged from-0.22 to 0.46for geneticcorrelationbetween traits whilephenotypic correlation ranged from-0.11 to 0.65.Genetic trends were positive for all studied traits except for days open and NSC. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of different levels of quanti tative feed restriction on nutrient intake and digestibility, nitrogen balance, efficiency and feeding behavior, and productive performance in F1 Holstein/Zebu cows during the middle third of their lactation. Methods: Sixty F1 Holstein/Zebu cows with 111.5±11.75 days of lactation and an initial body weight (BW) of 499±30 kg (mean±standard error of the mean) were used. The experimental design was completely randomized with the following diet levels of feed restriction: 3.39%, 2.75%, 2.50%, 2.25%, and 2.00% of BW, with 12 replications for each level. The experiment lasted for 63 days, of which each period lasted 21 days with the first 16 days for diet adaptation followed by 5 days for collection of data and samples. Results: For each 1% of BW diet restriction, there was a decrease in dry matter intake of 5.26 kg/d (p<0.01). There was no difference in daily milk production (p = 0.09) under the restric tion levels of 3.39% to 2.0% of BW. When corrected for 3.5% fat, milk production declined (p = 0.05) 3.46 kg/d for each percentage unit of feed restriction. Conclusion: Restricting the feed supply for F1 Holstein/Zebu cows in the middle third of their lactation period altered nutrient intake, nitrogen balance and ingestive behavior but did not affect milk production or feed efficiency. However, considering the observed BW loss and decrease in milk production corrected for 3.5% fat, restriction of no less than 2.5% BW is recommended.

To obtain quality milk, several hygiene measures must be taken during the milking process, especially cleaning the milking parlor and equipment using hot water. Thus, the objective of this study was to carry out the sizing and economic feasibility of two solar water-heating systems: flat plate solar collector (FPC) and evacuated tube solar collector (ETC) to clean milking parlors in the interior of Brazil. The sizing and economic feasibility of applicability of this study was carried out for a dairy farm located in the city of Anápolis-GO, Brazil. We calculate the energy produced by the solar collector, the necessary number of collectors, the net present value (NPV) and the time of return (RT) for all systems. The ETC presented higher energy produced per unit area (8590 to 12 979 kJ m-2 day-2) than the FPC (6472 to 8699 kJ m-2 day-2). Furthermore, it presented a total required area around 33.5% lower when compared to the FPC. The system that obtained the lowest total cost was the ETC with approximately US$ 34 441.00. The two systems had positive NPV, and for ETC, this value was 7.2% higher. The return times for FPC and ETC were 3 years and 2 months and 2 years and 10 months, respectively. Both systems have proven their economic viability for heating water from milk producing properties, and may be an option for regions without energy access. In addition, the use of these systems contributes to the reduction of production costs and environmental impacts.
