Gastrointestinal Parasites in Captive Animals at the Rio de Janeiro Zoo

Abstract: Background Gastrointestinal parasites may determine diarrhea, dysentery or even death in captive mammals. These animals tend to be more susceptible to parasitic infections due to confinement and stress.
