Abstract: The amyloid-β protein precursor (AβPP) is a type I transmembrane protein that undergoes maturation during trafficking in the secretory pathway. Proper maturation and trafficking of AβPP are necessary prerequisites for AβPP processing to generate amyloid-β (Aβ), the core component of Alzheimer’s disease senile plaques.
