The World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP) is a comprehensive list of scientifically described plant species, compiled over four decades, from peer-reviewed literature, authoritative scientific databases, herbaria and observations, then reviewed by experts. It is a vital tool to facilitate plant diversity research, conservation and effective management, including sustainable use and equitable sharing of benefits. To maximise utility, such lists should be accessible, explicitly evidence-based, transparent, expert-reviewed, and regularly updated, incorporating new evidence and emerging scientific consensus. WCVP largely meets these criteria, being continuously updated and freely available online. Users can browse, search, or download a user-defined subset of accepted species with corresponding synonyms and bibliographic details, or a date-stamped full dataset. To facilitate appropriate data reuse by individual researchers and global initiatives including Global Biodiversity Information Facility, Catalogue of Life and World Flora Online, we document data collation and review processes, the underlying data structure, and the international data standards and technical validation that ensure data quality and integrity. We also address the questions most frequently received from users.

Correlation Study of Antioxidant Activity with Phenolic and Flavonoid Compounds in 12 Indonesian Indigenous Herbs

The antioxidant activity (AA), total phenolic content (TPC), and total flavonoid content (TFC) of selected Indonesian Zingiberaceae herbs were determined. An optimization extraction procedure was conducted by using Taguchi L16 orthogonal array. Four chemical assays were applied, including 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity assay, H2O2 scavenging activity assay, Folin–Ciocalteau (F–C) assay, and NaNO2-AlCl3-NaOH assay, which revealed remarkable differences in AA, TPC, and TFC. The result indicated the diversity of AA composition among the herbs, and C. longa exhibited the highest AA. HPLC-PAD analysis revealed that curcumin was present in five high antioxidant herbs, and the highest amount was in C. longa. Pearson correlation analysis indicated that the identified TPC and TFC were significant contributors to AA, and curcumin was likely the main contributing antioxidant compound. Our approach concluded that C. longa is the greatest source of natural antioxidants among 12 Indonesian indigenous Zingiberaceae herbs. The use of a mixed-method approach to augment the findings of solitary methods might facilitate future researchers to uncover deeper and hidden meanings.

Webometrics merupakan sistem pemeringkatan Perguruan Tinggi berbasis website yang dapat digunakan sebagai indikator kinerja global sebuah universitas. UNRI sebagai institusi yang memiliki visi untuk menjadi universitas yang unggul di bidang riset terus berupaya meningkatkan peringkat Webometrics-nya. Namun dalam beberapa dekade terakhir, peringkat Webometric UNRI menurun dari peringkat 8 menjadi peringkat 35 dalam dua tahun terakhir. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis dan benchmark sehingga dihasilkan strategi TIK untuk meningkatkkan peringkat Webometric UNRI berdasarkan permasalahan yang dialami menggunakan metode SWOT dan Gap Analysis. Beberapa faktor utama yang menyebabkan menurunnya peringkat Webometric di antaranya adalah kurang efektifnya mekanisme tata kelola website sehingga banyak konten-konten yang tidak dapat diindek dengan baik oleh mesin pencari. Selain itu perubahan metodelogi penilaian Webometric juga memberikan pengaruh, dimana pada tahun 2019 Webometric menyeimbangkan porsi komponen aktifitas dan impact website. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa strategi yang kemudian diturunkan menjadi rencana aksi untuk meningkatkan peringkat UNRI di antaranya penguatan tata kelola website, implementasi kebijakan SEO dan Open Access, dan penggunaan aplikasi MY UNRI sebagai media berbagi tautan untuk meningkatkan nilai Visibility. Setelah melakukan implementasi beberapa strategi tersebut, maka peringkat Webometric UNRI periode Januari 2021 mengalami peningkatan dari peringkat 35 menjadi 31.
